Annand “designed some of the most elegant and accessible pictorial maps of the period” (Hornsby).
Extending to include the area from Battery Park and New York Harbour to the Bronx; and from New Jersey to Brooklyn and Queens. Originally published by the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, the Waldorf, on Park Avenue, and the map’s focal point. The map depicts other iconic Manhattan landmarks; bridges; and locations in the five boroughs.
As cartographer for two major published series: “The Rivers of America” and Shelby Foote’s “The Civil War: A Narrative”, Annand had a prolific cartographic output.
